stuck HH

From: Elizabeth (zorket@gmail.com) | Date: 2009-04-11 13:57:45 UTC
I moved a HH last year to a box that is very rarely found. I've been pondering going back and getting the little HH and moving it to a box that is found more frequently. It's been there over a year now. Any thoughts?

First try to convince some of your boxing buddies that haven't found
the box to visit. :o)

i would leave it. we live in an impatient world. while it is true that
hitchhikers should be moved along, who says they can't have a rest? i once
found a hitchhiker that had been sitting for 2 years. i felt like i had a
double bonus!

".....we live in an impatient world..."

is one of the most honest, true statements I have heard in a long, long
time.

Well said.

If you can get a hold of the HH owner, ask them what their preference would be. My guess is, they'd like it to move.

I agree! It will serve as a nice surprise for those that DO make the effort
to find the box. I've put HH's in several boxes when I planted them and I
know that some weren't found for several years.

I completely agree. It is really cool to find a little surprise like HH's that most have given up as lost - both for the finder and the owner. Besides, letterboxing for me is supposed to be a non-competitive, enjoyable pasttime. My life is busy enough at all other times!

When checking on boxes I've foundHHs stuck in some of my boxes for a long time. I take them out to move them but it's not really a big deal, someone would have found it eventually. ...Chuck of WWW
